Since then it&#8217;s expanded and now occupies half of the top floor of the 1 in 12 Club, along with a cafe and printing press. In that time we have been archiving material . The archive now contains an estimated 20,000+ items. The collection is mainly from the 1980\u2019s, 1990\u2019s and 2000\u2019s but some special sections within the archive do go back further. The library and archive occupy an upstairs room in the building. It contains a large collection of radical books, zines, pamphlets and ephemera from Bristol and around the world. Alongside hosting our historic collection, we are also a hub for grassroots groups to meet, organise, and raise consciousness. This ranges from lesbian history groups and queer poetry workshops to abolitionist teaching &amp; learning and organising meetings. Our building in the centre of London contains an archive of historical material linked to social struggles, resistance campaigns, experimental culture, and the expression of marginalised and oppressed groups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text is-stacked-on-mobile\" style=\"grid-template-columns:41% auto\"><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"115\" height=\"115\" src=\"https:\/\/norla.maydayrooms.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/notts.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-71 size-full\"\/><\/figure><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Notts Queer History Archive is a community-led grassroots history project based in Nottingham. It was set up by CJ De Barra in 2022 and now holds 195 oral history interviews, 1240 items and 800+ newspaper articles. It has produced three books, Queer Nottingham 1960-2019, which are available through Five Leaves Publications.
